Andrea Ehret
Andrea Ehret is a Slovak artist and art therapist, born in Eastern part of Slovakia, currently residing in Prague, Czech Republic. Her paintings are her world, her dreams & visions... her circles. This lead her to search for her unique style followed the natural inclination towards abstract expressionism.
Her approach is strongly connected to her vision of life, she choose art as a tool for possible self-transformation. She strongly believes art has the ability to heal and awaken.
In her abstract expressive art works, she often uses impasto layers, acrylic, oil, metal gold or bronze pigments on canvas or paper. Exploring spontaneity of liquid medias makes the process more playful and intuitive at times. There is always sense of passion, engaging movement and contrasting boundaries of light and darkness, sunshine and clouds. She concentrated on the beauty of life, mother Earth, botanical motives, her own dreams…
Her paintings are strongly inspired by Eastern philosophy and can be viewed as an expression of inner meditation, reflection of her own inner world, embracing her own Light and Shadow via balancing tones, flow like brush strokes, perhaps a feeling of harmony and powerful energy at the same time. She paints her own world, her life... She throws herself out there but there is this longing for a dream-like experience where everything is possible and perfect harmony exists.
