Ewa Matyja (b.1985) is an abstract emerging artist originally from Poland. Matyja worked for over 10 years in Sales in Fashion retail, when over 3 years ago she dropped corporate lifestyle to pursue her lifelong dream and become full time artist. She shifted the energy and emotions stored inside into her paintings, which led to create her signature style.

 

As a self-taught artist with only three years of experience she paints to challenge myself. The amount of creativity that was store inside her, creates unexpected pieces that are abstract visualization of all her previous experiences and the world around us. As an artist she creates work that reflects emotions and chaos in life that we are living. She captures movements and life.

Her creative process is very intuitive and it is some sort of exploration of our abilities as artists. She is fascinated by textures, nature, architecture, interior, structures that she is trying to recreate in her paintings.

 

She uses traditional materials, acrylic paint, charcoal, pastels, ink. She experiments with them to find what surprising final effect can be achieved.

 

Her process involves working on several pieces at the time to create dialogue between them, moving from one to another allows me develop the ideas and pushing the boundaries. This is no going back or correcting process. Her goal is to inspire those, who sees her work to look more carefully at the world around them, to discover beauty in unusual.

 

Matyja has exhibited in solo exhibitions at several locations in Poland and has been included in various group exhibitions in Italy, China, Poland, Germany, UK and USA. She has been actively involved in art fairs and art festivals in Poland, UK and USA.

She currently lives in Bali, Indonesia where she has her studio
