Stefano Rookie was born in Treviglio on July 19, 1978. In 1997 he began working as an apprentice at “The art of restoration”, getting the opportunity to refine the techniques for the conservation and restoration of frescoes and decorations of important historical buildings in Lombardy, in the North of Italy. In 2004 he began his career as a freelancer, continuing to work in the field of restoration and decoration in Italy, Switzerland and France.

In 2017 he discovered his passion for abstract art and started a personal pictorial production in which classical training and contemporary visions merged together, creating works full of dramatic and at the same time light events.

He started with abstract paintings about three years ago. He needed to express himself on an artistic / creative level in addition to the work of restorer and decorator that he has done for 20 years. This work imposes precise rules from which he needed to escape and, of course, abstract art is a perfect way.

 

While he paints, he moves away from any type of model or rule. He let himself be guided by the images that come to mind. It is really difficult to say where these images come from, perhaps they are memories or sensations that materialize in shapes, colors, shapes and gestural signs, through a sincere and intimate dialogue on canvas.
